Draymond Green has been with the Golden State Warriors ever since his draft in 2012. Along with Stephen Curry, Green has shown loyalty to Steve Kerr’s team all his career. In his 13 years with the Warriors, he has won four NBA titles. The 4x All-Star has been one of the most important players for Golden State.
Another important player for the Golden State Warriors for three seasons was Kevin Durant. The 15x NBA All-Star won back-to-back NBA titles (2017, 2018) with the team and also won the finals MVP in both of those finals. However, KD left the Warriors with a bittersweet feeling after missing an entire season due to injury. Recently, that bittersweet feeling was reignited between former teammates.
“Those who don’t believe defense is as valuable as it is, they simply just don’t win. I don’t think anyone’s ever really been hell-bent on caring about the opinion of those that don’t win, because your opinion equals zero,” Draymond said.

This was a response to Kevin Durant’s comment about how offense wins championships. Durant believes offense is more important than defense.
Green replied, “He won here, (and) the defense here was….” a reporter chimed in, “It was incredible.” Green concluded, “Absolutely.”
Fans React to Draymond Green’s Shot at Kevin Durant
Fans were divided on Draymond Green and Kevin Durant’s opinions about what is more important to win championships.
“Draymond acting like he was more important than KD to the Warriors ‘17 and ‘18 rings,” one fan said.
“Would KD have won a championship in OKC if he stayed?” one fan took Dray’s side.
“Draymond’s resume lets him speak like this. cant argue,” another said.
“If KD is correct, then how come Don Nelson never won a championship as a head coach? His style was all run and gun offense and no defense. If his teams made the playoffs, they would usually get booted in the first or second round. In the postseason, defense is imperative,” another explained.
“People still can’t fathom how good of a defense peak warriors had, both the Durant years and non Durant years,” another commented.
