Daquan Davis Transfer Portal: Top 5 Landing Spots for the Florida State’s Guard

Players continue to leave Florida State following its recent coaching change, and point guard Daquan Davis has decided to join this group after just one season with the program. The freshman averaged 8.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.

The new head, Luke Loucks, is using elite shooting abilities as a metric for recruiting players, and it’s possible that he doesn’t see Davis as a good fit. However, Davis is a very good guard with a high ceiling and wouldn’t be short of suitors.

5 Potential Landing Spots for Daquan Davis

    North Carolina Tar Heels

The University of North Carolina has lost some players ahead of the 25/26 season, and they’re looking to the portal to fill gaps. Davis could be part of the incoming recruits, and while he isn’t the finished product yet, he’s an athletic player who can get to the rim and help open up teammates.

Davis has three years of college eligibility left and he could write a very beautiful story with UNC.

    Kentucky Wildcats

The Kentucky Wildcats lost starting point guard Lamont Butler and starting combo guard Jaxson Robinson ahead of the new season. It is reported that head coach Mark Pope and Kentucky are looking at multiple players, and Davis could prove to be a useful addition to the roster.

    Indiana Hoosiers

The Hoosiers were one of the teams interested in recruiting Davis out of high school before he ultimately decided to choose Florida State. Indiana lost its entire roster this offseason and is going to recruit many replacements.

Indiana appointed Darian Devries as the new head coach this year. He’s tasked with rebuilding the program. The Hoosiers could renew their interest in Davis.

    Ole Miss Rebels

Ole Miss made their second ever Sweet 16 appearance, losing 73-70 to Michigan State. Chris Beard is just in his second year as head coach, and he started four seniors in that game against Michigan State.

He would have to look to the transfer portal to replace outgoing players. Davis is a raw talent, and Beard could help refine his abilities.

    Michigan State Spartans

The Spartans lost Xavier Booker, Tre Holloman, and Gehrig Normand before the 25/26 season. Tom Izzo will look to the portal to fortify his squad, and Davis is an option he could consider.
