Dan Hurley and UConn just beat the defending champions, Florida. There was certainly some unfinished business between the two sides as Florida beat UConn last season on their way to the national championship. Todd Golden’s Florida had gotten a slight edge over UConn in only the second round of the NCAA tournament.
It was a rather embarrassing end for the Huskies after back-to-back NCAA titles in 2023 and 2024. Earlier this week, Hurley’s Huskies got the upper hand against the Gators. The game ended 77-73 in UConn’s favor, and Hurley looked a bit tired, to say the least.
During Alex Karaban and Solo Ball’s post-game conference, Dan Hurley entered and whispered something to his players. Karaban said Hurley was tired and just wanted to go home which cracked up both Alex and Solo. Hurley also said something to show both his tiredness and desire to just get done with the post-game conference.
“Who the f*ck is talking?” Dan Hurley said with a sense of immediate guilt when he couldn’t figure out which reporter was asking him the question. He continued, “Oh, I’m sorry. I was just f*cking looking at this f*cking mic right here. I got messed up.” This made the room full of reporters laugh.

Fans online were divided after Dan Hurley’s reaction. While some were ecstatic, others did not see the fun side of that exchange.

“All my homies hate Dan Hurley,” one fan admitted his dislike for UConn head coach.
“Wow! And this guy is a leader?! Not impressed,” another fan expressed.
“I love how he’s unapologetically himself,” one fan admired Hurley.
“Probably the biggest clown in sports,” one fan stated.
