Is 2025 SG Dame Sarr Headed to Duke? HC Jon Scheyer’s Instagram Activity Sparks Recruiting Buzz

Dame Sarr is an Italian-Senegalese wing heavily recruited by many of college basketball’s bluebloods. It initially looked like he would be joining Illinois’ crew of international stars, but then Kansas and Duke entered the mix.

Shooting guard Cedric Coward, who has announced his transfer to Duke if he returns to college, will likely remain in the NBA Draft as his stock improves. As such, Duke HC Jon Scheyer has turned up the heat on Sarr’s recruitment.

Will 2025 G Dame Sarr Choose Duke?

Per On3, Dame Sarr is the 17th overall prospect in the Class of 2025. Sarr recently visited Kansas, and on Monday, he visited Duke.

Sarr has been linked to multiple programs, but with him on campus, it looks like the signs align towards a Duke commitment. Scheyer’s latest Instagram activity also adds credence to the theory.

The official Instagram accounts for Duke’s team and Scheyer have both started following Sarr. This has sent excitement towards the Blue Devils fanbase as past experiences suggest that it is usually a done deal when such happens.

The Italian-born wing previously played for Barcelona in Spain and now looks set to further his career in the NCAA. For FC Barcelona, Sarr averaged nine minutes per game in 15 Euro League games and another 12 in Liga ACB.

The shooting guard averaged 3.5 points and 1.1 rebounds on 53.7% from the field and 44.8% from behind the arc. He’d be a huge scoring boost for the Blue Devils next season, and there’s a great chance that he would slot into the starting five at the three right away.

Sarr isn’t the only high school prospect that Scheyer and the Blue Devils are actively courting. Top-35 2026 prospect Sebastian Wilkins recently announced his final two schools in Duke and Maryland, and there’s a chance he reclassifies to 2025 and start college ball this year.
