As a high school prospect, Givens was ranked No. 61 overall in the 2024 class by On3 as the No. 10 point guard nationally. The 247Sports Composite rated him No. 65 in the class. He initially chose LSU over Memphis.
In his final appearance with LSU, Givens tallied seven points, five rebounds, three assists, and no turnovers in 26 minutes during a 91-62 SEC Tournament loss to Mississippi State. His top performance came earlier in the season on January 7, when he scored 15 points against Missouri, shooting 5-of-13 from the field.
“Curtis Givens is a skilled and confident lead guard,” On3’s Jamie Shaw wrote in a scouting report. “He has a smooth three-point range that extends well beyond the arc. While he will need to continue developing his explosion, he can get to his spots, off the bounce, in the half-court, and has good floor vision.”
