Duke’s star freshman Cooper Flagg has been the consensus number one pick in the upcoming NBA Draft since before the 24/25 season started. Flagg is considered one of the best prospects of the past few decades. NBA teams have been pulling out all the stops to try to tank and land the best odds of drafting the Duke freshman, the youngest player in college basketball this season.
Flagg is already considered the best player in college basketball in many people’s minds, and he turned 18 midway through this season. He is elite on both ends of the floor and plays one of the most valuable positions at the wing.

Cooper Flagg: A Top Tier Prospect Who Can Only Improve
Flagg is a terrific shot-creator. He can score from anywhere on the floor, is good with both hands, and is very efficient. He once scored 42 points on just 14 shots.
Flagg did have some concerns about his 3-point shooting before his freshman year. He hasn’t been a knockdown shooter, but his 36.8% from behind the arc this season quelled many of those doubts.

What was once considered a weakness in his game is now one of his strengths. This testifies to how much work he’s put into improving his game. He’s also an excellent passer and’ll likely be the primary ball handler for whichever team wins the draft lottery.
Flagg is considered NBA-ready at 18, which speaks volumes about his immense abilities. He doesn’t only thrive on offense; he’s also a terrific defender. He is a very good shot blocker with great help instincts and a high motor. He’s a good athlete with plus length and leaping ability. He has the quickness and size to guard multiple positions in the NBA. He could even become an All-Defensive player one day.
