Cooper Flagg Turns Heads at Duke Camp With Bold New Look Ahead of 2025 NBA Draft

Cooper Flagg may be projected to be picked No. 1 overall in next week’s NBA draft, but he still remembers where he came from, even though he only spent one year there. The presumptive No. 1 draft pick returned to Durham with a goatee to say goodbye to his school as he makes his final preparations for his NBA career.

With Duke shorts on, “Goatee Coop” appeared at the Duke basketball fans and addressed all those present. He also met with his now-former coach, Jon Scheyer, before finally saying goodbye to Durham, goatee and all.

This is his first appearance at the Duke summer camp, and will probably be his last before his NBA career finally begins. Officially known as the 2025 Jon Scheyer Duke Men’s Basketball camp, this is a sports camp hosted by Scheyer, with kids all over the country participating to learn from one of the best coaches in the NCAA today.

In his freshman year at Duke, he averaged 18.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game, with a field goal percentage of 48.8%. Cooper Flagg led the Blue Devils to a 35-4 overall record, leading the team all the way to the Final Four before bowing out to Houston. He had been an overwhelming favorite as the No. 1 pick, with the Dallas Mavericks likely drafting him, as they hold the first pick.

As for Cooper Flagg’s new look, it got a lot of fans talking, calling him “Goatee Coop” because of his new facial hair. Meanwhile, others were genuinely happy that he returned to Durham to address the kids at his former coach’s summer camp.

“GOATee Coop!,” one fan commented on X, with an emphasis on goat.

“Aww great to see him back! Goatee Coop!!!” another fan happy that Flagg has returned to Durham with a goatee.

“He got a goatee now,” the Cooper Flagg fan page pointed out.

“Goatee coop 👀,” repeated another person.

Goatee or not, a lot of fans are already excited for him, as it is very much possible that the Dallas Mavericks, which hold the No. 1 draft pick this year, would build a team around Flagg, who accomplished so much at Duke during his one year at the school.
