With the NBA Draft withdrawal deadline nearing on May 28, uncertainty surrounds the Arkansas Razorbacks as Adou Thiero and Karter Knox weigh pivotal decisions. Thiero’s status remains murky amid conflicting insider reports. As the May 28 deadline for college players to withdraw from the NBA Draft draws near, Arkansas forward Adou Thiero remains one of the most intriguing undecided names.

Insider Report Complicates Thiero’s NBA Draft Status as May 28 Deadline Nears
Though many had presumed his collegiate career was over, recent comments from Thiero and a CBS Sports report have reignited speculation about a potential return to Fayetteville.
Thiero, who averaged 15 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals per game this past season, remains a versatile and athletic prospect. His defensive switchability, 7-foot wingspan, and high motor have prompted comparisons to NBA veteran Draymond Green.
At the NBA Draft Combine, Thiero gave a cryptic update on his status, saying, “The door is not completely shut, but we should know more this week. For me, the door is kind of closed, but my circle around they want to hear more great things to finally shut that door.”
His statement offered little clarity and stopped short of confirming his departure from college basketball, sparking renewed buzz among Razorback fans.
Analyst Aaron Torres addressed the situation on his podcast, citing mixed signals and growing chatter.
“I’ve had probably half a dozen of you reach out to me and ask one very simple question—could Adou Thiero actually return to college basketball for another season after entering the NBA Draft and seemingly closing the door?”
Torres acknowledged the CBS report from Matt Norlander, who stated, “I think they both wind up back at Arkansas,” referring to Thiero and fellow Razorback Karter Knox. However, Torres was quick to temper expectations.

“I would be stunned. I would put it at less than 5%, maybe less than 3%, if Adou Thiero returned to Arkansas,” he said.
Torres questioned the logic behind a potential return, arguing, “What is the legit argument for Adou Theiro coming back?”
He noted that Thiero doesn’t fall into the categories of players who return to college either to develop further, improve draft stock, or capitalize on NIL earnings.
With just days left before the withdrawal deadline, Thiero’s final decision remains uncertain—but as Torres concluded, “I just don’t see it happening.”
Despite a knee injury that sidelined him for the final stretch of the season, Thiero averaged 11.3 points and 6.9 rebounds in games where he logged at least 25 minutes. Things are getting increasingly intriguing as the May 28 withdrawal deadline approaches, with new developments continuing to stir uncertainty around Thiero’s decision.
