New prospects come up every year and every time there’s an already active player that these prospects share similarities with. Some of the 2025 NBA draft prospects have been compared to James Harden, Jayson Tatum, Kevin Durant and the likes.
For some of these players, it could be the playing style that drew the comparison and for some others, it could be physical attributes. An ESPN analyst has come up with another comparison between a draft prospect and an active NBA player.

CBB Analyst compares Colin Murray-Bowles to Draymond Green
Collin Murray-Boyles is a power forward who played for the South Carolina Gamecocks of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). He was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team in 2024 and Second-team All-SEC in 2025.
ESPN’s Jonathan Givony compared him to Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green after comparing their physicals from the draft combine.
Interesting physical comp spit out by the DX historical measurement database for Collin Murray-Boyles with 4x time all-star and NBA champion Draymond Green. Little bigger, stronger and with a higher reach even, giving him significant potential to grow into defensively. pic.twitter.com/hm4wh1urmo

Murray-Boyles is an undersized big man who possesses the ability to attack the rim forcefully, utilizing his ball-handling skills. He’s shown potential as a switchable defender through disrupting passing lanes and protecting the rim.
While he showed some concerns with his shooting at the combine, especially in the three-point shooting star drill, he excelled in shooting off the dribble and at the free-throw line.
Murray-Boyles draws comparisons to Draymond Green defensively as both players are undersized forwards who can effectively switch on defense, guarding positions from point guards to centers. One scout event named Murray-Boyles as the best defensive prospect in this year’s draft class.
Murray-Boyles has been projected to be a top 10 pick as ESPN has him at number 9 to the Toronto Raptors while athletic has him at number 10 to Houston Rockets.

If selected in the top 10, Murray-Boyles would become the eighth South Carolina player to be drafted in the first round, a feat last achieved by Renaldo Balkman, who was selected 20th overall by the New York Knicks in 2006. Historically, Tom Riker is the highest ever Gamecock selected, going eighth overall to the Knicks in 1972.
