Cayden Boozer is already one of the most talked-about freshmen in college basketball. The son of former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer, Cayden has made his mark long before even playing a game for the Duke Blue Devils.
The young guard arrived at Duke as part of the highly touted 2025 recruiting class. Alongside his twin brother, Cameron Boozer, he represents both talent and legacy, a continuation of a family name deeply rooted in Duke basketball history.
While Boozer’s future at Duke is drawing national attention, his personal life is also making news. His girlfriend, Gianna Torres, recently took to Instagram to share a heartwarming story featuring the young Duke star.
The photo showed her posing in a maroon fishnet top, and she included a touching message dedicated to Boozer. In the post, she admitted she was missing him a little more than usual that day, adding a sweet, personal note.
“Missing my fav visitor a little extra tdy,” Torres wrote.

The young couple has been seen together multiple times over the past year, with Gianna often sharing supportive messages about his success and dedication. On the court, Boozer is set to bring both steadiness and creativity to Duke’s backcourt.
At 6’4”, he offers solid size for a guard and excels at running the offense with maturity beyond his years. He has been praised for his understanding of tempo and space. With his brother Cameron and a talented freshman class joining him, Boozer’s first year in Durham carries enormous expectations and excitement from the Blue Devils’ fanbase.
Jon Scheyer’s Plans For This Season
When Duke head coach Jon Scheyer began his first press conference for the 2025–26 season, expectations were sky-high. Reporters immediately asked about the team’s outlook after last season’s heartbreaking finish.
Scheyer acknowledged that Duke has been consistently close to reclaiming its championship status in recent years. He emphasized that success at this level comes down to small margins and that the program’s consistency proves it remains among the nation’s elite.
“I think they’ve seen that we’re right there. Two of the last four years, we’ve been really close, and it’s a small margin of error,” Scheyer said. “If you keep putting yourself in that position of being in that moment, being right there, it’s a matter of time before you break through, and I feel that’s where our program is.”
Last season’s Duke team lost just two games after the new year and advanced all the way to the Final Four before bowing out in dramatic fashion. That run set a high bar, but Scheyer insists the team isn’t looking backward.
He understands that Duke fans expect nothing less than titles, but he’s confident that the current roster, stacked with new talent like Cayden and Cameron Boozer, has the right balance of skill and chemistry to make another deep run.
