Dybantsa also said he’s “already been impressed” by Cougar Nation. Dybantsa enters the BYU men’s basketball team as one of the most sought-after recruits in the nation. Dybantsa chose to take his talents to BYU, and he’s looking to do that in a big way.
Fans already got a taste of his flashy style when he dunked over Reese at the Sprite Jam Fest.
“Coach Young’s NBA background played a big factor in my decision,” Dybantsa said on why he chose BYU over his other offers. “He came from the NBA. He coached NBA players. You cannot get any closer to where I want to be.”
“The goal is to win a national championship,” he said. “Individually their plan is to make me NBA-ready, the No. 1 overall draft pick. They will help me with my 3-point shot and put me in different spots that I would play in the NBA.”
Overall, excitement at BYU appears to be at an all-time high. The Cougars, who are still looking to get back on the map in college basketball, may be in the best position to do just that.
