Bruce Pearl Under Fire as Auburn’s Final Four PG Tahaad Pettiford’s DUI Arrest Raises Questions About Team Culture

Point guard Tahaad Pettiford may have led the Auburn Tigers to the Final Four, but that will not save him from alleged DUI charges he incurred on Saturday morning. The Auburn guard was reportedly arrested in Lee County, Alabama, and he was reportedly intoxicated with alcohol.

The state of Alabama is very strict on underage drinking, and Pettiford, who is only 19 years old, is still under the age limit. In Alabama, it is illegal for a person under the legal drinking age to have a BAC of 0.02% or higher. This incident has many fans blaming the situation on Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl.

“Bruce doesn’t care and he won’t miss any important games.” said another person.

“Ugh ohhhh NO CULTURE NO CULTURE,” one person chimed in.

    “Pearl culture,” added another commenter.

“The university of doing things the right way strikes again.” one X user noted.

However, there were a few who noted that Tahaad Pettiford was the one who should be blamed for the incident.

“You would think these athletes who are making hundreds of thousands and maybe even millions of dollars would just call an Uber,” one X user pointed out.

Pettiford was instrumental in leading Auburn to the Final Four this year, averaging 11.6 points per game, 3.0 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game. He tested the waters for the 2025 NBA draft but withdrew, instead opting to rejoin the Tigers and play in his sophomore season.

Tahaad Pettiford’s Bail Has Been Set, Mugshot Released

While DUI is considered a crime, and Pettiford may have some added underage drinking charges to contend with, a judge has now reportedly set his bail at $1,000.

He was reportedly booked on July 12 at midnight, and his bond is considered active, according to Lee County records. His mugshot has also been released:

Pettiford may potentially be Bruce Pearl’s starting point guard at Auburn, with the incoming sophomore star being highly touted after his Final Four run with the Tigers. However, it is still unclear whether or not the school will impose any disciplinary actions against him following the DUI arrest.
