Arkansas Razorbacks point guard Boogie Fland announced his decision to forego further NCAA eligibility and enter the 2025 NBA Draft. Which teams may be a fit for the Razorbacks’ young guard?

5 Potential Landing Spots for Boogie Fland
A four-star prospect in the 2024 high school class, Fland was given the keys to Arkansas’ offense from the very beginning of the season. At 6’2″, 175 pounds, Fland is lightning quick and showed himself to be a tremendous passer, averaging 5.1 apg while also adding 13.5 ppg, much on drives to the rim.
A hand injury sidelined the freshman from mid-January until the NCAA Tournament, leaving some questioning how he would’ve performed with further reps in the SEC. But his talent is unquestionable, and point guard is a need for much of the league in this draft cycle.
Let’s highlight five teams that could benefit from adding Fland through the draft.
Utah Jazz
The Jazz have two mid-second-round picks in this draft, right in the area where we may see Fland land. Although Utah already has multiple young guards, it never hurts throwing another dart at the board and seeing what hits. If Fland turns out to be a quality point guard in the league, the Jazz will be happy they took him.
Although his 3-point shooting was questionable, at only 34.0%, coach Will Hardy and his staff have already proven capable of developing skills with their players. Although not a contending team just yet, Fland is a long-term piece with the future in mind.
Los Angeles Clippers
With arguably no young talent at the guard position, Fland should be on the Clippers radar right away. He’s a dynamic player at the point of attack, pushing the pace of the offense — something LA badly needs as one of the slowest-paced teams in the league.
Fland could learn from All-Star James Harden in how he navigates the pick-and-roll and finds open guys, something Harden has made a career out of. He may not get opportunities on the court early on, but the mentorship with this veteran group and coach Tyronn Lue would serve the Razorbacks’ guard well as his career progresses.
Sacramento Kings
Another organization looking for a guard to infuse some youth into the group are the Kings. They traded away franchise point guard De’Aaron Fox to the Spurs and didn’t receive anything back in regards to directly replacing him. They’ve employed a point guard by committee approach down the stretch of the season — with mixed results.
Looking ahead to the future, Fland’s quickness and ability to distribute the ball would suit Sacramento well.
It’s unclear if they’ll hire a new coach or stick with interim coach Doug Christie once the season ends, which could change the way they look at prospects, but Fland can provide defense and effort along with a responsibility handling the ball that is hard to find late in the draft.
Phoenix Suns
The Suns are the definition of point guard-needy. Their trio of stars in Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal, have never played with a dynamic point guard like Fland before. Free agent acquisition Tyus Jones has had a solid season, but he lacks quickness and an ability to change the game.
Although he’d go through growing pains as he is young, Fland would bring immediate athleticism to that position. He only averaged 1.4 turnovers per game, an extremely promising mark for a young freshman.
Though it may take him part of the year to fully get his feet wet, Fland would be able to attract defensive attention and take some of the load off of Phoenix’s star trio.

Memphis Grizzlies
Though Memphis has a clear star at point guard, they may need to replace backup Scotty Pippen Jr. and they’d be wise to start looking sooner rather than later. Pippen Jr. has outplayed his contract and will likely price himself out of being able to come back to the Grizzlies.
If he lands in Memphis, Fland would have the required time and resources — the Grizzlies developmental staff is one of the best in the NBA — to become an impact player in a couple of years. At that point, Pippen Jr. would likely be out the door, and Fland could fill a void as backup point guard, a position that Memphis uses more than any other team in the league.
