What are the Latest Baylor Updates on the Transfer Portal?

The transfer window opened on March 24 and runs through April 22. In that time, Baylor has lost significant talent, headlined by freshman standout Robert Wright III. Five others, including Langston Love, Jason Asemota, Omar Adegbola, Jalen Celestine, and Marino Dubravčić, have also hit the portal.

On the flip side, four new commits (some potential) have given the roster new hope. Here’s the breakdown:

    Who’s In

    Cameron Carr

Cameron Carr arrives from Tennessee, adding more potential to Baylor’s wing rotation. Carr has reportedly joined the program as a student and is slowly but steadily working to join the roster, hoping to participate in the 2025-2026 session.

    Obi Agbim

Obi Agbim, a guard from Wyoming, has a very high chance of joining the Bears. His floor-spacing ability should mesh well with Scott Drew’s system.

    Michael Rataj

Michael Rataj committed on March 31, 2025, from Oregon State. The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 16.9 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists last season, earning a four-star transfer rating (19th overall by 247Sports).

    JJ White

JJ White, a 6-foot-2 guard from Omaha, pledged to Baylor on April 3, 2025. A First-Team All-Summit League pick, he averaged 13.7 points, 4.0 assists, and 2.6 rebounds, hitting 44% from three.

    Who’s Out

    Robert Wright III

Robert Wright III’s exit on April 7, 2025, stings the most. The freshman guard, an All-Big 12 honorable mention, started 21 of 35 games and dropped 19 points in Baylor’s NCAA Tournament win over Mississippi State.

    Langston Love

Langston Love entered the portal on March 23, 2025. The redshirt junior guard averaged 8.7 points and 2.8 rebounds in 20 games this season, but injuries dogged his four-year stint. With one year left, he’s seeking a fresh start.

    Jason Asemota

Jason Asemota, a young forward, announced his transfer intent around March 25, 2025. His role was limited, and his stats are thin, but his exit chips away at Baylor’s frontcourt depth.

    Omar Adegbola

Omar Adegbola joined the portal exodus around March 25, 2025. A lesser-known piece of the roster.

    Jalen Celestine

Jalen Celestine, a redshirt senior forward, entered as a grad transfer on April 1, 2025. He started 11 games and averaged 7.1 points and 3.5 rebounds.

    Marino Dubravčić

Marino Dubravčić, a center, hit the portal on April 3, 2025. His contributions were minimal, but losing a big man like him means that the Bears will need to find more reinforcements for their frontcourt.

The incoming transfer haul, Carr, Agbim, Rataj, and White, brings a lot of young potential and balance, but the loss of Wright and others leaves gaps.

With 14 days left in the portal window as of April 8, Drew’s staff is likely hunting for a center and more forward depth. Returning players like Josh Ojianwuna and top recruit V.J. Edgecombe offer some hope, but replacing the production of six departures is a tall order.
