Earlier this year, Anthony Davis and Luka Doncic were traded in a shocking blockbuster deal. The Dallas Mavericks traded their star man, Doncic. The NBA world did not understand the real reason behind the trade, and nobody really liked how things unfolded. Doncic joined LeBron James and the LA Lakers, while AD went to the Mavs.
Despite the bittersweet feeling for Luka, he has settled well in LA. Moreover, he had the best start to his career. He is averaging over 34 points per game and has led the Lakers in LeBron’s absence. The Mavs, on the other hand, have struggled so far. They are 5-14. AD has only played five games, but has been effective. He averages 20.8 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.
The Lakers and the Mavs are set to match up for the first time since the infamous trade on Friday, November 28. Anthony Davis had a message for his former team and teammates. He was asked which day he was looking forward to playing. AD gave a fiery response.
“That’s real question? You know what game I wanna play,” AD referenced to the Mavs vs Lakers matchup.
“But we’ll see, we’ll have a conversation. I’ll see what makes most sense. You know, with the medical staff and coaching staff and see no decision has been made. So obviously, I would like to [play vs Lakers], but at the end of the day, the main thing is that I get back on the floor, no matter if it is Friday or Saturday,” he added.
