Illinois Fighting Illini guard Andrej Stojakovic has reportedly suffered a setback that led him to return to the locker room during his most recent college basketball game. On Monday, Dec. 22, Stojakovic and the rest of coach Brad Underwood’s 2025-26 Illini squad faced coach Dennis Gates’ Missouri Tigers for the continuation of their current non-conference schedule in away territory, the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
In a post by @CBBonFox, a video is shown where, at the 9-minute mark of the first period, Stojakovic slips on the court on his right foot before he is seen limping. As the Illini brought the ball back down on the offensive end after a Missouri two-pointer, play was halted for team officials to check on Stojakovic. He hobbled back to the locker room to get checked.

There is no word yet on the seriousness of the injury that Stojakovic endured, but he ended up missing the rest of the first half. He was seen again during halftime, presumably looking to return in the matchup. Nevertheless, the Illini rely on Stojakovic as he is the team’s leading scorer with averages of 15.5 points on a career-high 53.7% field goal shooting, to go along with 4.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists a game.
