‘Same Same’: Alijah Arenas’ Mom Laura Captures Sons in Cozy Moment

Former reality show star Laura Govan often posts about her and former NBA star Gilbert Arenas’ kids, all of whom are rising basketball stars. On Sunday, she posted a wholesome Instagram story of her two sons, Aloni and Alijah Arenas, as they relaxed during their off time.

“Same same @alijah0arenas @alonoarenas.” she wrote in her caption.

All three of them were just lounging around peacefully at home, with Alijah and Aloni about to embark on a busy summer schedule. Aloni, who is still in middle school, is about to embark on another Nike EYBL Jr. session in July, while Alijah is about to enter his freshman year of college at USC. His freshman year comes just months after he was caught up in a near-fatal crash last April, when his Tesla Cybertruck crashed into a fire hydrant and a tree.

Alijah Arenas has since made a full recovery and is expected to play for USC in the fall. However, it was a near-death experience as the five-star shooting guard was trapped inside the Cybertruck as it burned after the crash. He was soon saved by several passers-by and was hospitalized but had to be medically induced into a coma to save his life, as he inhaled too much smoke.

As for Laura Govan, she is expected to be busy again soon, as she is coaching Why Not Premier, which her daughter Hamiley belongs to. The team is part of the Nike EYBL circuit, with the team resuming its campaign in July.

USC Freshman Alijah Arenas Jokes About Staying in a UCLA Hospital After Near-Fatal Crash

The hospital Alijah Arenas stayed in was run by his school’s cross-town rival, UCLA. While he and his family were forever grateful, former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas revealed during “The Dan Patrick Show” that his son was joking about staying in a rival school’s hospital.

“His sense of humor was still there. When he was waking up and he asked where is he and it was like, ‘You’re at the UCLA hospital,’ and he wrote ‘Tell Muss (USC coach Eric Musselman), I’m sorry I’m at UCLA.’ I’m like, ‘Not right now, not right now,'” said Alijah Arenas’ father, Gilbert Arenas.

Alijah’s accident united his family, with Gilbert Arenas and Laura Govan, often feuding after their contentious split, showing a united front as their son was placed into a medically induced coma. After the incident, Eric Musselman and several former NBA stars close to the Arenas family showed up at the hospital.
