New St. Bonaventure men’s basketball general manager Adrian “Woj” Wojnarowski has shown that there are no geographical limits to his intentions to build the most competitive team possible.
After shaking up the college basketball world with the recruitment of Russia’s Illia Ermakov, Woj has just added another international signing, John Ikpotokin, who will arrive from Canada.

Adrian Wojnarowski Was All In on John Ikpotokin
Woj’s intentions are evident not only in the fact that he landed this top prospect for the Bonnies, but in what he did to get him there. Canadian national scout Joe Moussa, who also collaborates with North Pole Hoops, witnessed firsthand what the former ESPN reporter was able to do to see Ikpotokin for himself.

Big commitment for the @RNS_Hoops product, with plenty of build up leading to this signing…

“I remember telling Woj to check him out back in February as he drove through a Canadian winter snowstorm to watch an NPA Canada game in Fort Erie, Ontario,” Moussa recalled. “Since then, they were among the first and longest programs to recruit John [Ikpotokin] with serious interest.”
Anyone who has experienced or at least heard of a Canadian snowstorm knows that voluntarily facing one is an undeniable test of one’s determination. There is no doubt that Woj wanted to see this prospect with his own eyes.
Currently, Ikpotokin (6’7″) is a student at Rothesay Netherwood School in New Brunswick, Canada. Until last March, he averaged 21 points per game in the Canadian Junior League.
The future member of the St. Bonaventure Bonnies was on the radar of virtually every college basketball coach due to his exceptional upside. New England Recruiting Report described him this way last January:
“Athletic forward who is nearly unstoppable in transition, attacking the basket. Uses his incredible leaping ability to block shots, snatch rebounds, and get way above the rim on dunks. Ikpotokin is also able to use his athleticism to jump into passing lanes and get his team going on the break.”

Ikpotokin will be the fifth international player on the Bonnies’ 2025-26 roster. He will join Englishman Michael Folarin and Frenchman Noah Bolanga, who return to St. Bonaventure, as well as Russian Ermakov and Italian Achille Lonati. The latter two, like the Canadian, will be making their college basketball debuts.
