St. Bonaventure men’s basketball general manager Adrian Wojnarowski has signed 18-year-old Italian guard Achille Lonati to the St. Bonaventure Basketball team. Wojnarowski has been pursuing Lonati’s signature for some time and recently traveled to Italy to meet the youngster and watch him up close.
Lonati played for AZ Armani Exchange Milano in the Italian Serie A last season and then made his debut in the Euroleague for Olimpia Milano this past season, featuring in just one game for them.

Why Achille Lonati Chose St. Bonaventure Over Other Top Programs
Lonati has opted to continue his education overseas at St. Bonaventure. The 6-foot-5 guard received several offers from teams like Xavier, Georgia Tech, Texas Tech, VCU, California, Washington State Saint Louis and others. Reports suggest that Lonati was convinced by Wojnarowski’s proposal and chose St. Bonaventure ahead of offers from other top American universities.
The 18-year-old will become part of Adrian Wojnarowski’s newly launched project. Wojnarowski was appointed as the managing director of St. Bonaventure last season after a stint as an NBA insider for ESPN. The Bonnies play in the Atlantic 10 and finished seventh in the conference last season, and they haven’t qualified for the NCAA Tournament since they lost in the first round in 2021.
Born in 2007, the Magenta native played for Olimpia Milano Under 19s and Oleggio in the Interregional Serie B. Lonati was recently named as one of the best EA7 players in the Adidas Next Gen Tournament in which Milan lost on the final against Paris Basketball.
Wojnarowski Confirms Commitment as Lonati Brings Euroleague Pedigree to the Bonnies
Adrian Wojnarowski himself confirmed that Lonati has committed to St. Bonaventure Basketball. The 56-year-old re-shared a video with the highlights of the 18-year-old on his X profile. Lonati is one of the higher rated recruits in the 2025 class for Italy.
The 18-year-old is averaging 14.5 PPG, 3.2 RPG and 3.3 APG while shooting 54% this season playing U19 in Italy for the best overall youth club. He also put together 12.6 PPG this summer for Italy. The highly rated prospect also made his Euroleague debut with Milan earlier this month. While Lonati had the chance to play in the Euroleague next season, he has decided to continue his career in the NCAA.
