The college football season is not set to begin until September, so North Carolina quarterback Max Johnson still has some time to relax and unwind. He did so on Friday, teaching his girlfriend, Adrienne Davis, how to play golf in a wholesome video she posted that same day.
In the video, Johnson taught Davis what the golf clubs were and let her experiment with which ones were right for her. He was also teaching her how to swing properly and what the proper stance is when taking a big swing.

As for Max Johnson, the Tar Heels quarterback had a less-than-stellar 2024-2025 season, missing almost the entire season after getting injured during the season opener against Minnesota, where he was tackled by two Minnesota defenders who were going at him from two different directions.
Still, he completed 12 passes for 71 yards and an interception during that game, giving North Carolina the lead before getting injured in the third quarter. He was soon replaced by sophomore Jacolby Criswell as the QB1, with North Carolina hanging on to win the season opener, 19-17.
North Carolina HC Bill Belichick addresses Max Johnson’s injury
Bill Belichick, who won six Super Bowl titles with the New England Patriots, shocked many when he returned to coaching, this time for the North Carolina Tar Heels. The legendary coach soon got to work, and earlier in June, he addressed his injured quarterback, Max Johnson, during a press conference:
“Max is doing, doing very well,” Belichick told reporters. “His rehab has been long, and I have a lot of admiration for him. It tough injury, but nobody’s worked harder than he has, and he certainly is able to do a lot more than he was last spring. So we’ll see exactly where he is when things start, but it’s a whole lot closer, and we certainly expect to see him out there. So it’s been very encouraging.”
Belichick’s arrival at Chapel Hill sparked plenty of headlines and has attracted a lot of eyes to the program. With Johnson still working on getting better, he has plenty to look forward to under the Super Bowl winner, as Belichick knows a thing or two about coaching quarterbacks, as he was the one who helped Tom Brady rise to the top.
