CFB Analysts Rate Colston Loveland as a Top Pick in the 2025 NFL Draft

Loveland was the third Michigan junior to enter the 2025 draft, following Johnson and Graham, two other potential first round. Well, it was an expected move. Why?

Because when it comes to sheer receiving skills, Loveland stands out as the premier tight end in the 2025 NFL draft class.

In a recent PFF College Football Show episode, analysts Chadwick and Wasserman provided a scouting report on Loveland, explaining why he is rated so highly.

“Physicality is kind of the one negative in his game, but if you want a tight end who could be a matchup nightmare in the slot, that’s Colston.”

Once an overlooked talent from Gooding, Idaho, Loveland earned playing time as a freshman and became a key player in Michigan’s national championship run as a sophomore.

Standing at 6’5’’, Loveland’s smooth route-running skills have made him one of the premier TE prospects in college football.

Despite Michigan Wolverines’ struggles in their 2024 passing game, which ranked 131st in the country, Loveland was their most consistent player. He had 56 receptions for 582 yards and five touchdowns.

In 2023, Loveland stood out on Michigan’s national championship squad, securing 45 catches for 649 yards and four touchdowns.
