Heisman Winner Marcus Mariota Headlines Oregon’s Class of 2025 Hall of Fame Inductees

The University of Oregon revealed its 2025 Athletics Hall of Fame class Monday, June 9, with Marcus Mariota at the forefront. The 2014 Heisman Trophy winner, who helped elevate the Ducks to national prominence, leads a celebrated group of five standout athletes and four title-winning teams set for induction later this year.

Oregon Honors Heisman Winner Marcus Mariota in 2025 Hall of Fame Class

The University of Oregon announced its 2025 Athletics Hall of Fame class on Monday, led by former quarterback and 2014 Heisman Trophy winner Mariota. The standout signal-caller is one of five individual athletes and four national championship teams to be recognized this fall.

Mariota, Oregon’s only Heisman winner, concluded his collegiate career as the most decorated player in program history.

He was the Pac-12’s first freshman named first-team all-conference and the league’s only three-time first-team quarterback.

Mariota guided the Ducks to a College Football Playoff national title appearance in January 2015, capping a 2014 season where he led Oregon to an 11-1 regular season, a Pac-12 title, and set league records for total offense (4,452 yards) and touchdowns (53).

He left as Oregon’s all-time leader in total offense (13,033 yards), passing yards (10,796), touchdown passes (105), total touchdowns (136), and career starts (41). He was selected No. 2 overall in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans.

Joining Mariota is Hroniss Grasu, the center who anchored Oregon’s offensive line during that same era. Grasu earned two AP All-America honors and was a finalist for the Rimington Trophy.

Also inducted are Jenna Prandini, a three-time NCAA track champion and 2015 Bowerman winner, and Sam Crouser, a two-time NCAA javelin champ and four-time Pac-12 winner who joins his father and uncle in the Hall.

“The 2025 Hall of Fame Class for Oregon Athletics is truly exceptional,” said Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens. “The excellence achieved by all inductees places them among the very elite in the storied history of Oregon Athletics.”

Softball star Janie Reed (née Takeda), an Olympic medalist and elite centerfielder, rounds out the individual honorees.

Oregon’s women’s indoor track and field teams from 2011 to 2014 will also be enshrined. With their induction, all five of the Ducks’ consecutive national championship squads from 2010 through 2014 are now honored.
