Taylor Rated Third-Best TE in 2025 NFL Draft

In his recent X post, Meirov said Taylor has several good qualities as a tight end but isn’t projected to be the top pick at the position.

“Tyler Warren and Colston Loveland, and those two guys are the top two. No argument about that. They’re going to be the first two tight ends in this draft. But I think Taylor has that starter potential, likely going somewhere in the second round.”

Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz’s USA Today article also ranked Mason Taylor with third place after Warren and Loveland.

He discussed Taylor’s growth as a receiver, noting “he had 55 catches for 546 yards and two touchdowns.” Taylor also set a school single-season reception record at the tight end position.

Taylor’s three-year total for the Tigers was 129 receptions for 1,308 yards and six touchdowns.

At 6’5″ and 255 pounds, Middlehurst-Schwartz wrote that Taylor “likely will need to bulk up to handle battles at the line of scrimmage better, but he can be utilized as a move tight end in the early going.”

He added that Taylor won’t be shutting down the passing attack like his father, former defensive end Jason Taylor, but will be helping boost it with whichever team drafts him.
