As a transfer, he was rated as a four-star prospect, ranked as the 34th overall player in the portal. Benefield spent three seasons at Boise State, recording 233 tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles, and five interceptions for the Broncos. He arrived at the school as a three-star recruit in the class of 2023, ranked as the 107th best prospect out of California that year.

Trinidad Chambliss Picks Ole Miss Over LSU
Trinidad Chambliss is currently leading the Ole Miss Rebels in a national championship run, but at the same time, he’s asking for a waiver from the NCAA to play a final season of college football. It seems like he will get one.
A few reports said that Lane Kiffin wanted to take the quarterback with him to LSU. That possibility has vanished, as Chambliss took to X on Monday to confirm his desire to play at Oxford, Mississippi, next year.
“From the moment I arrived at Ole Miss, Oxford has truly felt like home for me and my family. I give all glory and honor to God for His guidance and faithfulness throughout this journey,” Chambliss wrote on social media. “This season has meant so much to me, especially because of the brothers I get to line up with every day and the unwavering love and support of the Oxford community.

Despite this, the LSU Tigers have strong prospects for finding a quarterback for 2026. They’re the front-runners to sign Arizona State’s Sam Leavitt, the top quarterback available in the transfer portal.
