The Lane Kiffin sweepstakes has now entered a new chapter, with Ole Miss‘ athletic director setting a deadline for the Rebels coach’s decision to choose either staying with the school or going to LSU or Florida. Ole Miss and LSU have each reportedly offered the coach $13 million, with Florida soon matching that number. These offers came after the ultimatum was set by Ole Miss, and his family members went on excursions to LSU and Florida.

Both Florida and LSU have fired their respective coaches earlier this season after disappointing starts, and both have set their sights on Kiffin, who had previously turned down offers from other notable schools, including Auburn.
With each school offering him approximately $13 million per year, he would now become one of the highest-paid coaches in college football. He is already in the top 10 with his $9 million per year salary, but he is expected to go up the ranks if he takes any of these offers. He could tie or surpass Georgia head coach Kirby Smart, who currently makes $13,003,000 per year.
LSU is the most aggressive in pursuing Lane Kiffin at the moment, with reports indicating that the school has given him a seven-year offer worth over $90 million, with over $25 million annually in NIL and revenue sharing.

When Will Lane Kiffin be Expected To Announce His Decision?
As for Lane Kiffin’s decision itself, all three schools have been throwing an enormous amount of money at him so far, but he could only choose one. As to when that decision is, it will likely be after the Egg Bowl, where Ole Miss will be taking on cross-state rival, Mississippi State.
Ole Miss AD Keith Carter released a statement regarding their coach’s impending decision, and said that he has until Nov. 29 to decide.
“Coach Kiffin and I have had many pointed and positive conversations regarding his future at Ole Miss, including meeting (Friday) with Chancellor (Glenn) Boyce,” the AD said. “While we discuss next steps, we know we cannot lose sight of what is most important — our … team is poised to finish the regular season in historic fashion.”
For now, Kiffin is focusing on getting the Rebels to play in the College Football Playoffs, which the team is likely to make.
