Former Notre Dame QB Riley Leonard has had an exciting 2025. He helped lead the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to the national championship game in January, losing to the Ohio State Buckeyes. While it was a disappointing loss, it was still an incredible run for the team. Leonard’s performance with Notre Dame led to him getting drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL draft.
Despite all that has happened in his football career, Leonard revealed on Wednesday something in his personal life that is possibly even more exciting. Leonard posted one photo on Instagram, revealing that he got engaged to his girlfriend, Molly Walding.
“Diamonds make pressure,” Leonard wrote.

Riley Leonard and His New Fiance Are From the Same Home Town
It is always exciting to see someone get engaged to the love of their life, but there is something extra special when it is between two people who have been together for most of their lives. Both Leonard and Walding are from Fairhope, Alabama, a small city that sits on the coast of Mobile Bay.
It is not clear exactly when the couple met, but it was likely during their early days in school. However, it has been confirmed by “People” that they are high school sweethearts. They started dating back in 2017 and have been together since. They stayed together despite not going to the same school.
According to Walding’s Instagram, she is an alumnus of Auburn. Conversely, Leonard spent three years at Duke before transferring to Notre Dame this past season. He is now starting his NFL career with the Indianapolis Colts.
The couple is now set to take on the next step of their lives together. They are engaged and will be together as Leonard navigates the struggles of being a rookie in the NFL next season.
