The Louisville Cardinals have a Friday date with Boston College in Week 9, pushing for marquee television real estate in the process. Mathematically, the Cardinals aren’t out of the ACC race just yet, but they certainly have to win out in 2024.

WR Caullin Lacy Opts Out, Eyes 2025 Return
It was a mere four-game sample size, but Caullin Lacy showcased what he was capable of during the 2024 season with Louisville. However, after that four-game sample size, the season is officially over for Lacy.
After dealing with a nagging collarbone injury this year, Lacy has decided to opt out of the 2024 campaign, take a redshirt, and focus on the next steps in his career. According to a Louisville spokesperson who spoke to ESPN, Lacy participated in practice with Louisville during Week 9. But that’s all we know.
Lacy ranked fifth nationally last season in receptions and yards with South Alabama, transferring as one of the most sought-after transfer portal players during last offseason. He broke his collarbone during a preseason scrimmage and had to wait until Louisville’s game against Notre Dame on September 28 to make his Cardinal debut.
In four games with Louisville, Lacy hauled in 15 receptions for 179 yards but showcased plenty in that time.
His next steps are unclear as he could return to Louisville in 2025, but he is also seen as a potential mid-round NFL Draft pick at this time based on his tape and experience from South Alabama.
