Not only on the outside, but even inside Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Lane Kiffin was called out after his former program, Ole Miss Rebels, defeated the Georgia Bulldogs 39-34, capping off an incredible second-half comeback in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal game at the Sugar Bowl.
Earlier, after Ole Miss wrapped up their regular season with the game against Mississippi State, Kiffin surprised college football fans by announcing the move to become the head coach of the LSU Tigers, thereby leaving Oxford behind just ahead of the playoffs.
As such, with Ole Miss still winning despite his absence, fans chanted “F*ck Lane Kiffin” after the final whistle was blown. Memes also flew over the internet with Kiffin becoming the subject of jokes.

With the win, Ole Miss enters the College Football Playoff semifinal game, where they’ll face the Miami Hurricanes. The Rebels’ upcoming opponent defeated defending national champions Ohio State to set up this encounter.

Ole Miss Staged an Incredible Second Half Comeback Against Georgia
Ole Miss Rebels made the first splash on the Sugar Bowl scoreboard, but the Bulldogs scored 21 points in the second quarter to enter halftime with a nine-point lead. The Rebels erased a major part of that deficit with a touchdown in the third quarter. Kewan Lacy rushed for a seven-yard touchdown. However, Georgia extended the lead with a field goal.
To begin the final quarter, Ole Miss converted back-to-back scoring drives into touchdowns, resulting in them claiming the lead 34-24. Lacy scored his second rushing touchdown of the night to gain the lead before Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss extended the lead to 10 points with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Harrison Wallace III.
Just when Ole Miss was sneaking away, Georgia stormed back, with Gunner Stockton completing an 18-yard touchdown pass, followed by a 47-yard successful field goal attempt.
With the game tied 34-34, Ole Miss needed a scoring play to retake the lead. Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss orchestrated a clutch drive to put the Rebels within field-goal range in the final minute. This included a critical 40-yard completion to De’Zhaun Stribling on third-and-5. Kicker Lucas Carneiro stepped onto the field and drilled a 47-yard field goal, giving Ole Miss a game-winning lead.
