The USC Trojans landed a big fish on the recruiting trail last November when five-star quarterback Husan Longstreet decided to go play for head coach Lincoln Riley.
Now, the team feels like it could have what it needs to compete at a high level for years to come.

Lincoln Riley’s Take on Husan Longstreet
Riley spoke with the media earlier this month about being able to sign Longstreet, and it is fair to say that he has high hopes for the Corona, Calif., native.
“We felt very strong about Husan Longstreet. The more we were around him, the talent was pretty obvious, but really the intangibles were what really spoke to us.”
“Obviously having the right quarterback here is a big, big priority, and we feel like we absolutely got that.”

One of the elite prospects in the state and country, Longstreet will have the chance down the road to help guide the Trojans’ ship if he can continue to show off his work ethic, leadership, attention to craft, etc., early and often.
Of course, he must compete with other Trojans quarterbacks, Jayden Maiava and Sam Huard, for the starting gig.
Longstreet’s Track Record
A high school transfer, Longstreet showed up and showed out during his career at both Inglewood High School and Centennial High School.
He led Inglewood to a 13-1 record in 2022 after throwing for almost 4,000 yards and a whopping 40 touchdowns. The following season, he transferred to Centennial and led the team to a 9-3 record while throwing for 24 touchdowns and just seven interceptions.
Finally, he played in only nine games as a senior but threw 19 touchdown passes to just four interceptions.

He is an efficient passer who also can use his legs at the right time. Standing at a little over 6’1″ and weighing just under 200 pounds, the 18-year-old signal-caller has the chance to be very successful as a future starter in Lincoln Riley’s offense.
Of course, it will be up to Riley to get him and the rest of the team ready, seeing as the team has won more than eight games just once in Riley’s three years at the helm.
The pressure is on for this Trojans team to start to win truly.
