Why South Carolina’s LaNorris Sellers Is Emerging as a Must-Watch Name in the Stacked 2026 College Football QB Class

The 2026 draft class is stacked with promising quarterbacks compared to this year’s class. Talents like Gareth Nussmeier, Drew Allar, Arch Manning, Cade Klubnik, and Lanorris Sellers are draft-eligible for next year.

The NFL Mock Draft Database has Sellers at No. 7 on the consensus big board, USA Today predicts him to go number two overall, NBC Sports also has him at number seven, while ESPN analyst Jordan Reid has him at number four.

“One player that a lot of people are already excited about is Lanorris Sellers at South Carolina,” Reid said.

“He has a lot of Donovan McNabb, Anthony Richardson type of traits as a runner, he needs to continue to develop as a passer but he is one name that a lot of people are excited about.”

The Athletic’s Dane Brugler also has Sellers at number two overall.

“With his dual-threat skills, Sellers was one of the most entertaining college quarterbacks to watch last season. It is probably too early to be talking about him this early in the draft, but that will change if he takes another step in his development as a passer,” Brugler said.

If he continues to work on his passing game as analysts suggest, he could be a real wildcard in the next year’s draft.
