“Little Bit Annoying”: Lane Kiffin’s Son Knox Shares True Feelings on Ole Miss Head Coach’s Exit Rumors Amid LSU, Florida Rumors

Head coach Lane Kiffin has done an excellent job of leading the Ole Miss Rebels this season. After years of failing to get over the hump, the Rebels are 9-1 and in the mix to compete in the SEC championship game. The most difficult part of their season should be behind them as well, as they only have games against Florida and Mississippi State to finish the season.

Now that Kiffin is leading one of the top teams in the nation, there have been rumors that other programs are trying to lure him away from Ole Miss. Teams like LSU and Florida are rumored to be interested in the Ole Miss head coach.

These rumors have frustrated the Kiffin family, especially at this stage of the season. Lane Kiffin’s son, Knox Kiffin, spoke to On3 about his recruitment this week. He is a 2028 QB recruit, but was also asked about his dad’s status at Ole Miss. He admitted it is annoying but understands why rumors appear.

“It’s definitely a little bit annoying but I understand, they want to know,” Knox Kiffin said. “I don’t know anything about it and I don’t think he’s really worried about anything. He’s just trying to go to the playoffs. I don’t think he’s worried about any of that until after the season.”

Lane Kiffin Will Not Move Until After the Season

While there are plenty of rumors about teams like LSU and Florida’s interest in Lane Kiffin, he will not move until the end of the season. The Rebels are right in the mix to qualify for the SEC Championship Game, although they will need some help from Alabama or Texas A&M. Both teams are undefeated in conference games, and will play against each other unless one of them loses.

Even if Ole Miss does not qualify for the SEC Championship Game, it will likely play in the College Football Playoff. It is the No. 6-ranked team in the nation and only has one loss. So long as they win their games against Florida and Mississippi State, they will likely be selected by the committee to participate.
