Lane Kiffin is represented by one of the most successful agents, Jimmy Sexton, who has worked with Nick Saban, Steve Sarkisian, Dan Lanning, James Franklin, and many other prominent coaches.
While the whole college football world waits for Lane Kiffin to make a decision on his head coaching future as he flirts with Ole Miss, LSU and Florida at the same time, analyst Josh Pate weighed in on a major factor in his hiring process:
During his latest analysis on “The Josh Pate Show,” the analyst talked about Ole Miss’s decision to make an announcement on their future after the Egg Bowl.
“You also got to understand there’s the small matter of the dude has a game to coach Friday and is represented by the most powerful agent in the sport right now and Jimmy Sexton. So, if that were the position I was in, I would say do what you got to do behind the scenes. I’ll make a decision whenever I’m telling you I’ll make a decision. That could be 5 minutes from now. That could truly be after the Egg Bowl”
“But between now and then, if you understand how your representation works behind the scenes, it may make sense why things feel like they continue to be changing and why you may have one whisper over here one hour, then another whisper over here the next hour. Well, it’s because when there are multiple parties involved, you’re just basically taking offer from party to party.”

Paul Finebaum Shares the Latest Intel on Lane Kiffin’s Coaching Saga
During his latest appearance on ‘The Matt Barrie Show’, Paul Finebaum talked about how one of his friends texted him and said that he got off the phone with a politician in Louisiana, who said the Ole Miss head coach is going to lead the Tigers.
Talking about announcing the future with Ole Miss after the Egg Bowl, Finebaum predicted that Kiffin probably told the Rebels he hasn’t made a decision yet and believes his current team is still in contention.
Finebaum and Barrie also spoke about the possibility of Kiffin just giving in to this whole saga as a “troll job,” and would eventually attack the media for fueling the rumors that he was going somewhere else.
“Assuming he wins the Egg Bowl, he’s in the playoffs. He may or may not go to SEC. Uh, and LSU and Florida fans hate him and like he really cares. Uh, I don’t think that is the highest probability, but I think it also is a cautionary tale.”
Barrie further contributed to the conversation and said nobody really knows what’s going to happen except probably his ex-wife, Layla, his son, Knox and his other kids.
