Colin Cowherd Advises Kiffin to Avoid LSU Amid Political Turmoil

The Rebels are ranked No. 7 in the nation and are very much in the hunt for a College Football Playoff berth. This would be a historic achievement for the program and Kiffin’s coaching tenure too.

This is Kiffin’s sixth year as head coach in Oxford and has led the team to one of its best seasons in decades. His success garnered a lot of attention from other sides as Kiffin is reportedly a top candidate for major coaching vacancies.

Teams like Florida and LSU are rumored to be interested. However, Colin Cowherd on his podcast appearance advised Kiffin to steer away from LSU, calling it a political job.

This comes after LSU fired their head coach Brian Kelly incurring a massive 54 million buyout and subsequently ousting their Athletic Director Scott Woodward influenced by the Louisiana governor Jeff Landry. Penn State could also be an interesting program to lead but it seems like Kiffin has remained focused on Ole Miss.

Kiffin has also spoken openly about his personal life. He loves his family’s move to Oxford and has credited his sobriety for improving his life. It has strengthened his relationships with his children.
