Lane Kiffin’s Brutal Troll On SEC Rivals Draws Hilarious Reactions From Fans: “They Do Rock, Paper, Scissors”

Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin is preparing for another season with the Rebels. He is coming off a season where they narrowly missed out on qualifying for the College Football Playoff. Kiffin was active on social media afterward, saying they should have been selected over some of the teams that were included.

Kiffin was active on social media again on Wednesday. An X discussion started between a few accounts discussing the playcalling situation at Auburn. It was revealed that different coaches call the first, second, and third down plays, and head coach Hugh Freeze has the option to overrule a play call at any time. Kiffin trolled Auburn fans by asking if a fourth coach calls the fourth down plays.

This drew some hilarious reactions from fans in the comments on X.

“I believe they do rock, paper, scissors to decide who calls 4th down at Auburn,” one fan wrote.

“Maybe if someone else had called your 4th downs against Auburn you wouldn’t have lost to Bryan Harsin,” one fan commented.

“If it worked then Hugh called it. Otherwise is was one of those other guys,” one fan added.

Fans continued to react on X.

“They can use a lifeline and phone a friend on 4th downs,” one fan wrote.

“Nah, they just draw straws on fourth to see who the turnover is blamed on,” one fan added.

“That’s a phone-a-friend one Lane. Don’t be selfish coaching your own game when you are needed!” one fan commented.

Lane Kiffin Calls Ole Miss’ Saturday Scrimmage “Exciting”

While Lane Kiffin has been having fun poking fun at Auburn on social media, he has also been working hard to get his team ready for the 2025 college football season. On Monday, he spoke with reporters, evaluating the team, including its first full scrimmage on Saturday. He called the game exciting but said there were still several teaching moments from the game.

The Ole Miss Rebels will begin their season on Aug. 30 against Georgia State. They have a fairly soft schedule to start the season, not playing a ranked opponent until LSU in Week 5.
