The Ole Miss Rebels have been thriving under head coach Lane Kiffin, with the team currently having a 6-1 record and is ranked No. 8 in the country by the AP Top 25 poll. However, after the firing of Billy Napier as Florida’s head coach, the Gators are now looking for one, and many believe that Kiffin will be the one taking the job at Gainesville.
While many Florida fans want Kiffin to leave Ole Miss and move to Florida, many people are not counting what his family feels about these rumors and potential move to Gainesville, and it is safe to say that his son, Knox Kiffin, is not very fond of the idea.
“I’m not moving to Gainesville bro,” he said in a statement.

Previously, there had been rumors that Kiffin would be moving to another school, Auburn, after the Tigers lost their coach at that time. It was his family, particularly his daughter, Landry, who said no to the move, and the coach followed his daughter’s wishes.
This means that he may be taking his son’s preference into consideration with these rumors surrounding Florida, as Knox may be one of the people trying to convince his father not to take the job should an offer be made.
So far, Kiffin has been handling the rumors of a potential move to Florida very privately. He has dealt with these rumors before and has so far stayed at Oxford despite many of them popping up left and right.

What Lane Kiffin Said Regarding the Florida Rumors
Despite apparently staying silent on these rumors, Kiffin did discuss the matter on the record with ESPN’s Molly McGrath. He noted that he usually does not address those rumors and is currently focusing on the current college football season.
“Lane Kiffin told me he usually doesn’t address those kind of coaching rumors in-season, because there’s so much more football to play, and there’s so many bigger things to focus on. But he’s actually going to do things differently today in their team meeting – he is going to address those (Florida) rumors with his players,” she said.
McGrath added that he told her that he will tell his players that the rumors are a compliment as he is on demand because they are winning right now.
