Lane Kiffin was the centre of attention of one of the biggest controversies in college football this year when he decided to leave his 11-1 Ole Miss team, which was one of its greatest Playoff runs in program history, to replace Brian Kelly at LSU.
During his introductory press conference at LSU, Kiffin revealed that he requested Kieth Carter to let him coach the team in the Playoffs before his exit; however, his request was denied by the Ole Miss AD.
As Pete Golding leads the Rebels in its playoff game against Tulane on Saturday, Kiffin took to X to somewhat salvage it’s relationship with his ex team and wrote it’s not the hunger games, asking fans to support both LSU and Ole Miss throughout the year except when they are playing each other, a statement which didn’t sit too well with the fans:
“This is a different level of petty coach.” one fan commented.
“Absolutely not. Will never cheer for LSU. EVER. You sold your soul to the devil Lane. Get back on your meds and wake up and realize what you’ve done.” another fan wrote.
“You’re the worst person in football. If you could learn to shut up and listen instead of opening your fat mouth to speak, you’d be a lot better off. How can you teach young men to be leaders when you have no discipline or self control? Pathetic excuse of a coach who’s won nothing.” another fan added.
“Coach, telling LSU fans they should cheer for Ole Miss isn’t going to be a winning message lol #ItsJustDifferent.” another fan pointed out.
“Lane you’re gonna learn really quickly that Jeff Landry is nothing but a tool which you oughta do is the next time that you see him just tell him his rhetoric is not only not wanted that he he’s just a flaming idiot.” another fan highlighted.
“F*ck you. I would rather pull rusty nails out of a shithouse door with my teeth than ever pull for LSU or you.” another fan added.
Its not the hunger games guys. Let’s both cheer for each other all year long except when we play each other. ☮️ 🇹🇹@LSUfootball @OleMissFB https://t.co/ZKpCzRAqys pic.twitter.com/TvZqFrgFZn

Tim Tebow Weighs In on Ole Miss’ Preparedness Without Lane Kiffin
During his latest appearance on the Sports Centre, Tim Tebow weighed in on the upcoming Ole Miss-Tulane showdown as the Rebels prepare to play without Kiffin, who was their head coach throughout the year.
Tebow said while he believes Kiffin is a really good coach, what’s important for Ole Miss right now is believing that who they have and what they’ve done is enough.
The ex-Florida star highlighted that Ole Miss has both their play callers in Charle Weis Jr. and Pete Golding, along with Trinidad Chambliss and Kewan Lacey, who are the best in their positions.
“You have to believe ‘we don’t have to be different who we are and what we have.’ It is enough.” Tebow concluded.
Ole Miss is set to play against Tulane at 3:30 p.m. ET at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi.
