The college football coaching carousel continues getting interesting, as once again, Lane Kiffin is at the center of it.
The Ole Miss head coach, having been linked to programs like LSU and Florida, while also deciding upon a potential contract extension with Ole Miss, is supposedly going to announce his final decision post the Egg Bowl game against the Mississippi Bulldogs.
However, Kiffin’s decision will not only have implications on the Ole Miss program and his coaching career, but it could also potentially influence and sway a new coaching contender’s next destination.

As previously reported by Pete Nakos of On3 Sports, the Florida Gators are eyeing Tulane Green Wave Head Coach Jon Sumrall to fill their long-drawn-out head coach vacancy void left after Billy Napier’s firing earlier this season.
But things aren’t as simple for Sumrall either. Nakos has also reported that Sumrall could also be a potential candidate at LSU and Ole Miss.

This three-way coaching musical chair situation means Sumrall would closely look at Kiffin’s decision, and based on it, he may want to bag the best possible coaching gig, essentially choosing between whatever’s left of Ole Miss, LSU, and Florida.
Jon Sumrall has also recently emerged as a top coaching candidate for Florida after the Gators moved on from pursuing Kiffin. Sumrall has led Tulane to a 9-2 record so far this campaign.
Lane Kiffin Fuels LSU Speculation With Cryptic Photo Of Nephew On X
Lane Kiffin continues to fan the rumor fire as he recently shared a photo of his nephew, perhaps hinting towards a supposed LSU gig.
Kiffin on X posted a photo of his nephew Christian, as his brother’s son was seen wearing a hoodie, which, according to some fans, had prints similar to the state of Louisiana.

This got the rumor mill talking as fans reacted on X, but nothing’s confirmed as of yet.
Meanwhile, the Ole Miss Rebels under head coach Lane Kiffin currently hold a 10-1 overall record and 6-1 in SEC play, and these numbers are part of the reason why programs are after Kiffin’s signature.
