Lane Kiffin Sends Twitter Into Frenzy as Ole Miss Focus Shows Despite LSU Move

Some reports in the press have pointed to running back Harlem Berry leaving LSU for Ole Miss. The fact that he might leave for Lane Kiffin’s old school, alongside running backs coach Frank Wilson, who has already signed with the Rebels, would be interesting on its own right.

However, it’s the fact that Kiffin himself retweeted the report that heavily confused some fans.

Kiffin is well known for his quirky use of social media, but that didn’t stop some fans from reacting in confusion.

“I’m thinking they locked in Harlem for next year, so Lane’s talking his shit now,” wrote one fan.

He must be cooking up something behind the scenes 👀,” ventured another person.

“Lane is a generational troll. It’s a thing of beauty,” joked one fan.

Maybe Kiffin himself found the news funny?

“Bc he knows it ain’t true and they are just going to get their hopes up,” claimed one individual.

“Master troll 🧌,” joked another person.

A few did think it was a mistake by the Tigers’ new head coach.

“Forgive him, for he not know what he did,” said one fan.

It’s important to note that there’s been no confirmation that Berry is on his way to Ole Miss, although a disappointing performance at the Texas Bowl, which included a fumble that could have cost the Tigers the game, did generate some buzz around the possibility. Ironically enough, Wilson coached LSU in this game, his last game as the interim head coach, and said that despite the fumble, the running back had a bright future at the school.

Why Did Frank Wilson Leave LSU Following Lane Kiffin’s Arrival?

Recently, Frank Wilson spoke about what led him to leave the LSU Tigers after leading them during the second half of the season. He said that as soon as Lane Kiffin arrived at Baton Rouge, they sat down to see where he could fit the new head coach’s scheme.

Ultimately, they didn’t find a spot for Wilson.

“We talked about ways that it could work out. Coach Kiffin was absolutely awesome the entire time, and wanting to try to find a way to work it out. We didn’t come to that resolution, so there were other opportunities out there,” Wilson said.

He added that once the Ole Miss possibility came up, it seemed like the perfect match for him and his family, so he decided to jump on it.
