Following the blockbuster news of Lane Kiffin’s official departure from Ole Miss to become the new head coach of the LSU Tigers days ahead of the Rebels’ playoff games, LSU linebacker and boyfriend of Kiffin’s daughter Landry, Whit Weeks wasted no time in trolling the Ole Miss faithful.
Weeks threw a jab at the Mississippi-based program on social media as the LSU star shared a post on his Instagram story that appeared to celebrate Kiffin’s move to LSU.
The post, originally from Barstool Sports, also jokingly implied that Kiffin’s move came from a personal familial place considering his daughter’s relationship with Weeks.
The post was a picture of Whit Weeks and Landry Kiffin captioned as “We were blind,” which Weeks shared on his Instagram story, writing:
“YA LOVE TO SEE IT”

The relationship between Landry Kiffin and Whit Weeks has been in the public eye since September 2025, as the couple officially announced their relationship right before Ole Miss and LSU’s game earlier this season.
Landry, 20, is currently an Ole Miss student, while LSU star Weeks is currently recovering from a broken ankle this season.
Kiffin’s move to Louisiana comes after weeks and weeks of dialogue and deliberation between him and multiple programs, which included making the tough choice of moving away from Ole Miss after the side finished first in the SEC with an overall record of 11-1.

Defensive Coordinator Pete Golding Takes Over As Ole Miss Head Coach After Kiffin’s Exit
Meanwhile, Ole Miss, after Kiffin’s departure, wasted no time in naming Pete Golding as their new head coach heading into the playoff leg of the season. The defensive coordinator was promoted considering his work in helping improving Ole Miss’ defense ever since his arrival in 2023.
His past experience includes working under legendary Alabama head coach Nick Saban as the Crimson Tide’s defensive coordinator from 2018 to 2022.
A former Delta State college football player, Golding has also coached programs like UTSA, Southern Miss, and Southeastern Louisiana, while also coaching his alma mater.

It will be interesting to see if Golding can continue Ole Miss’ dream CFB run this season, as former head coach Lane Kiffin continues to root for the Rebels to bring the championship to Oxford.
