Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin recently posted an Instagram story early in the morning that tagged Gators legend Tim Tebow, the former two-time national champion quarterback and 2007 Heisman Trophy winner.
With rumors swirling around Lane Kiffin’s potential exit to join the Florida-based side, this story prompted a lot of fans to react on X, the majority of them calling out the fan who pointed out Lane Kiffin’s story on X:

“He’s just stirring the pot”, stated a fan.
“Lmao he got you. Nice troll job by Kiffin”, said a fan.
“Even more of a sign he is staying home! If you think LK would insinuate he is leaving Ole Miss by this remark, you don’t know LK!”, explained a fan.
“Man you are so easy to troll you dumbass”, remarked a fan.
“This is great to see. Expect the extension to be signed in next 48hr”, commented a fan sarcastically.
“Considering he said he did not want to play for his dad this ain’t a good look”, stated another fan.
These reactions come out of the backdrop of Florida firing Billy Napier in October after watching their season spiral to a disappointing 3-4 start. The Gators are now on the hunt for a new head coach, with Kiffin being one of the prominent names to lead the program.
Gators Pursue Kiffin Aggressively After Billy Napier’s Firing
The numbers back up Florida’s interest. Kiffin has compiled an impressive 53-19 record during his tenure in Oxford, transforming the Rebels into legitimate SEC contenders.
His recent success has been even more remarkable. Ole Miss has racked up 30 victories since the beginning of the 2023 season, establishing itself as one of the conference’s most consistent programs.
Ole Miss are currently 9-1 so far this campaign and is sitting 4th in the SEC. Given Kiffin and Ole Miss’ recent success, combined with Billy Napier’s firing earlier this season, the Gators have been aggressively pursuing their next head coach. Reports suggest they’ve put together a lucrative package worth $54 million for the right candidate, which could potentially be Kiffin.
Besides Florida, that track record has caught the attention of multiple programs looking for experienced leadership, as Kiffin had been linked to LSU and even the New York Giants’ NFL coaching vacancy to replace Brian Kelly and Brian Daboll, respectively.
LSU have also reportedly offered a $14 million contract to coach LSU, but Kiffin has shut down the rumors pledging his commitment to Ole Miss.
