Former player Antonio Brown’s financial downfall made headlines this week as the veteran filed for bankruptcy in Florida. However, it was Lane Kiffin’s blunt response that brought more tensions to the horrid news.
Reporter Dov Kleiman tweeted the news about Brown’s financial distress.
Heartbreaking: Antonio Brown has filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Florida, declaring less than $50K in assets.
Brown reportedly owes nearly $3M in debts to eight creditors, including a $1.2M civil verdict over an alleged 2020 assault.

Kiffin, who never shies away from speaking his mind, reignited their long-standing tension, as he dropped a scathing four-word comment on social media. Kiffin wrote:
“K…. Is a B….”, which could be interpreted as the widely used phrase ‘Karma is a b***h.’
Brown, who earned more than $100 million during his NFL career, now claims less than $50,000 in assets and reportedly owes close to $3 million to eight creditors. The filing, made under Chapter 11 of bankruptcy, includes a $1.2 million civil judgment from a 2020 assault case.
Apart from Kiffin’s cold response, Brown’s bankruptcy news triggered sympathy and skepticism across the football community.
Lane Kiffin and Antonio Brown’s Strained Past Reignites Amid Former WR’s Bankruptcy Rumors
The long-standing friction between Lane Kiffin and Antonio Brown has resurfaced at a time when the former wide receiver is now engulfed in financial collapse. Their history goes back to Brown’s college days, when he played at Alabama during the early stages of Kiffin’s stint as an offensive coordinator under Nick Saban. Although never close, the two have remained loosely connected through occasional public tension and thinly veiled jabs at each other.
The situation has only worsened, as days before the bankruptcy news, Brown was allegedly involved in a shooting outside a celebrity boxing event. Reports claim he brandished a firearm during an argument and fired at an individual. A warrant was issued for attempted murder, though Brown has not been arrested yet. Instead, he announced on social media that he had left the country, writing:
“I’m out the country ain’t no more Child Support tell your mama get a job.”

As of now, Brown’s legal status remains unclear, and his financial future is in disarray. Meanwhile, like the former wide receiver’s recent past, his off-field life continues to draw more attention than his status as an ingenious NFL player.
