Top Landing Spots for Andrew Simpson

Connor Morrissette, Senior Staff Writer for USC Football, tweeted this morning on X that Simpson is planning to visit USC this week, leading to fan reaction and speculation that the deal was already done.

Simpson is from California and was a three-star recruit when he started his college career. He attended St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, California.

Prince Strachan, his former teammate, also transferred to USC during the winter transfer portal window.

Could the UCLA Bruins Be Interested in Andrew Simpson?

We’ve already covered Simpson’s status as a player out of high school in California. Simpson made an unofficial visit to the school in January 2020, but no more came of that visit, and then the Central Michigan Chippewas offered him in Feb. 2020.

Why the Kansas Jayhawks Could be Interested in Andrew Simpson

His 24/7 profile showed offers from several schools, including the Jayhawks, back in 2020. Simpson committed to them, signed a letter of intent, and then decommitted from Kansas.

Is there an opportunity for a reunion and a need for Simpson on the Jayhawks’ defense? Perhaps the transfer portal moves will tell us that.

Why Arizona Could Be Interested in Andrew Simpson

Brent Brennan, the coach of the San Jose State Spartans, offered Simpson a scholarship in April 2020.

Brennan and Arizona are hard at work at spring practices, and he shared some thoughts on the transfer portal and players’ involvement. Brennan said, “That’s a great question, and I have no idea. The portal is a part of it. I hope our players stay.”
