Lamar Brown is the most sought-after interior lineman in college football. Brown, who stands at 6’4″ and weighs 285 pounds, is the No. 1 ranked player in Louisiana and the No. 11 overall recruit, according to On3 Sports.
As his time in high school ball winds down, his choices for his next step are starting to heat up. However, his recruiting has taken an interesting turn lately, with Brown announcing he would like to play defensive line for whatever school he winds up at.

Lamar Brown Names LSU As His No. 1
According to a conversation with On3 Sports’ Chad Simmons, Brown has acknowledged that he has been in talks with Georgia, USC, Alabama, and Tennessee. However, four other schools separated themselves from one clear-cut favorite.
LSU, led by Brian Kelly, has taken the lead as Brown’s No. 1 school choice. Originally from Lousiana, Brown has expressed his desire to remain in Lousiana for the collegiate level and join the respectable football program.
LSU took the lead over Texas A&M, with Florida State and Miami tied for third place. “LSU is a little above A&M at No. 1,” Brown said via On3. “Florida State and Miami are tied after those two at the top.”
LSU’s staff has welcomed Brown’s decision to switch to the defensive side of the ball, which helped make Brown’s decision easier. Defensive Line Coach Bo Davis and EDGE coach Kevin Peoples have helped Brown greatly in the recruiting process.
“Since then, it has shifted to where I talk a lot to coach Davis and coach Peoples,” Brown said. “I have great relationships with the coaching staff. I feel comfortable here, my mom feels comfortable, and that is why LSU is high on my list.”
Brown still has opportunities to visit the other schools on his list. He will be at Florida State on May 30th, Miami University on June 6th, and Texas A&M on June 13th. He will make his final stop at LSU on June 20th before he ultimately makes his big decision.

Brown has yet to make an official decision, and it’s likely he will want to conduct all of his visits prior to making that decision. For Brown, trust and relationships are the most important pieces of his recruiting for his family and himself, and ultimately, he just wants a place he can call home.
