LaJohntay Wester made a name for himself during his college career at Florida Atlantic University, where he played from 2020–23. He left as FAU’s all-time leading receiver with 252 catches for 2,703 yards and 21 touchdowns. He also added two rushing touchdowns and one punt-return touchdown. His junior season in 2023 was a breakout: 108 catches for 1,168 yards and eight touchdowns, earning him first-team All-AAC honors at receiver and on special teams, plus AAC special teams player of the year.

Wester transferred to Colorado for his senior year in 2024, where he played in all 13 games, recording 74 catches for 931 yards and 10 touchdowns. He extended his streak to 50 consecutive games with a catch, ranking sixth all-time in FBS history.
His strong résumé helped him get drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2025.
