Former Alabama head coach Nick Saban’s daughter, Kristen Saban, provided the latest update about the family. On Wednesday, she took to Instagram and penned a heartfelt tribute for Saban and his wife, Miss Terry, after the family attended the annual Nick’s Kids Foundation luncheon and also took part in the groundbreaking of the Saban Center.
She posted several photos from the day, which show the entire family taking a group photo. In other images, the family can be seen with shovels as they break ground to start the building of the Saban Center. There was a video clip where Saban pays tribute to his wife on the podium for the support she has provided in successfully conducting the annual luncheon.
Kristen accompanied this carousel with a heartfelt caption dedicated to her mother and father. She wrote:
“No man stands as tall as he who stoops to help a child. ♥️ The annual @nickskidsfdn luncheon and @sabancenter groundbreaking was nothing short of sweet. So proud of my parents and their legacy to continue educating children in the state of Alabama and beyond for years to come.”

Nick Saban and Miss Terry’s Saban Center groundbreaking ceremony was attended by notable names
The groundbreaking ceremony for the Saban Center took place on Wednesday at the site of the former Tuscaloosa News building in the city’s River District. Several notable names who attended the ceremony included Governor Kay Ivey, Mayor Walt Maddox, Saban Center Director Audrey Buck, and Poarch Creek Indians Tribal Chair Stephanie A. Bryan.
The estimated cost of this project is $120 million. The Poarch Creek Indians have come with a $5 million donation with the purpose of education investment. The Saban Center is expected to be built by 2027. The purpose behind it is to create a first-of-its-kind STEM and arts campus.
According to the official website of the project, the Saban Center will be used to host the State of Alabama STEM Hub, Tuscaloosa Children’s Theatre and IGNITE (formerly the Children’s Hands-On Museum). It will provide hands-on, immersive learning experiences for students. It will also offer professional development and training opportunities for educators.
Moreover, the Saban Center will have a dedicated space to celebrate Nick Saban’s legacy at Tuscaloosa.
“We imagined a place where curiosity could be sparked and creativity nurtured like the Tuscaloosa Children’s Theatre, and every child, no matter their background, would have an opportunity to go there and learn,” Terry Saban said at the groundbreaking ceremony.
The Saban Center is expected to draw over 100,000 visitors and impact students across the region.
