Five-star Bishop Gorman safety Jett Washington is considered one of the most coveted prospects from the Class of 2026. He is the nephew of late NBA great Kobe Bryant and has helped lead his team to a state championship last season. On Monday, analyst Steve Wiltfong predicted that the safety will be choosing the Oregon Ducks.

Being a five-star safety, Washington has a lot of schools interested in him, including Alabama, UCLA, Ohio State, Texas A&M, USC, Washington, Michigan, Utah, Notre Dame, Miami, and more. However, Oregon has been seen as the clear favorite to land the Bishop Gorman star.
On3, which ranks the safety as the No. 27 overall, the No. 3 safety and the No. 1 prospect in Nevada, has Oregon as the favorite to land him as well. The Ducks have an overwhelming 95.7% chance of recruiting the Class of 2026 prospect, who is the son of Sharia B. Washington, the sister of Kobe Bryant.
Wiltfong’s prediction is just that, however, Jett Washington has not even committed to any school yet. That said, he has visited several schools already, and this often boosts the chances of a school in landing a player.
Washington has visited Oregon thrice, including an official visit last June 6. He also visited Alabama thrice, including an official one last May 30. He has also visited Texas A&M twice, though both were unofficial. However, the Aggies are already out of contention as he has narrowed his list to Oregon, Alabama, and USC.
Oregon made Jett Washington feel at home
Wiltfong has been noting Oregon has done well in targeting Jett Washington over the course of his recruitment. He has also been talking with people knowledgeable at what is happening in Washington’s recruitment, leading him to believe he will commit to Oregon soon.
That being said, the five-star safety has been all praises for the Ducks, talking about his recent June 6 visit to Eugene.
“The coaches made me feel like I have been there 50+ times and that it’s a home for me,” Washington told On3. “I spent time with coach Tosh [Lupoi], coach Hampton, and coach Lanning. Their message was that I am a priority and Oregon is a great fit for me.”
Landing Washington could be big for the surging Ducks, which are hunting for a national title but has failed to do so even after an undefeated regular season.
