The Georgia Bulldogs have had a great run over the last eight seasons under head coach Kirby Smart. But heading into 2025, the team could be facing its toughest season yet.

Georgia Football’s 2025 Season at Risk?
On3’s J.D. Pickell recently chatted about the Bulldogs’ biggest weakness heading into the new year, saying, “What made Georgia Georgia in those two (title) seasons was they would punch you in the face and smile…You were not running on them, and they would run on you.”
At any level of football, besides the youngest of levels, games are won and lost in the trenches.
Can an offensive line protect the quarterback and create open lanes for running, or will the opposing defensive line create havoc and not allow you to move an inch?
When Georgia went on to win back-to-back national titles (2021-2022), the trenches were the foundation of the team.
Now, it will be interesting to see whether or not head coach Kirby Smart can get back to that this year.
Georgia Looks to Take Care of Unfinished Business
The Bulldogs lost to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Sugar Bowl last season. Of course, the Irish would go all the way to play against Ohio State in the national title game.
But the Bulldogs fell short after winning 11 games and are looking to get back to being who they are in 2025.
If they are going to get back to being bullies in the trenches, they are going to have to do it against some good teams.
On their schedule for this season, they are set to face Tennessee and Auburn on the road while hosting Alabama, Ole Miss, and Texas. They will also renew their rivalry with the Florida Gators in Jacksonville.
If Smart and Co. can find a way to get back to being bullies, the schedule could allow them to have a strong resume.

But to have that, they will have to come out on top and win at least 10 games to get into the College Football Playoff discussion.
