Lane Kiffin and most of his coaching staff from Ole Miss have now all arrived at Baton Rouge to coach at LSU, and there are rumors that Kiffin is still trying to get some of his Ole Miss players to transfer over. One of the players whom fans want Kiffin to snatch from his old team is running back Kewan Lacy. This comes as running back coach Kevin Smith has now officially signed to LSU from Ole Miss to re-join Kiffin’s staff.

As the video of Smith’s arrival was posted by LSU Football’s X account, fans took to social media to urge some Ole Miss players, including Kewan Lacy, to join their former coach at Baton Rouge.
“@kewanlacy22 come to LSU blank check waiting for you plus your RB coach coming to LSU,” one Tigers fan tweeted.
“Kevin Smith AND Kewan Lacy 👀👀,” another fan declared.
“Oh yeah I see Weiss Jr. and our new RB coach! Geaux Tigers!” another Tigers fan said.
“Got the offensive staff back and they brought a friend 👀 #ItsJustDifferent,” one Tigers fan noted.
However, not many were praising the move and warned Lacy not to follow Kiffin to LSU.
“Lol if not for Kewan LACY nobody would want him, hell the fans wanted him fired mid season year before last.🤣 now losing Charlie will absolutely hurt. That one is tough. Chammmm⁵6⁶1,” one critic stated.
“@TrinidadChambl1 @kewanlacy22 this who y’all wanna play for? Mid playoffs and leaving you just like Lane. Smh man, yall deserve better.,” one fan added.
Kiffin had been teasing that he has been trying to get Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss for weeks now, and with Kevin Smith joining his staff, many believe he might also be targeting Kewan Lacy.

How Much Will LSU Pay Lane Kiffin’s New RB Coach?
In choosing to follow Lane Kiffin to LSU, Kevin Smith is expected to get a ton of money. Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports has reported that a deal has now been finalized and Smith is set to earn nearly a million dollars per year and is now one of the highest-paid RB coaches in the country.
“LSU has finalized to deal to hire Ole Miss’ Kevin Smith as running backs coach that’s expected to pay him close to $1 million per year and will make him one of the nation’s highest-paid RB coaches, per sources,” he reported.
It was Smith who developed Kewan Lacy and Quinshon Judkins at Ole Miss, turning them into elite level running backs.
