Cam Skattebo’s journey is proof of unwavering determination. With challenges that could easily derail most players, Skattebo consistently transformed obstacles into opportunities, building his career one brick at a time. The latest obstacle facing him right now is related to his draft stock tanking.
Skattebo is currently embroiled in a lawsuit involving a former teammate, Mattheos Katergaris. Katergaris, who played with Skattebo at Arizona State, is suing the running back for over $300,000 in Maricopa County Superior Court on “one count of negligence resulting in injury.”

Kenny Dillingham Comes to Skattebo’s Defense Amidst a Fall in Draft Stock
Due to Katergaris’ lawsuit and Skattebo’s sluggish 40-yard dash time, his draft projections are beginning to fall, and NFL teams are beginning to take notes, according to sources. Kenny Dillingham spoke to the media after spring ball and showed his unwavering belief and support for Skattebo.
Dillingham was asked what advice he would give his former running back during this rocky draft ride, and he replied,
“Enjoy it. Every—there’s a lot of people that want to be you. A lot of people that want to be you in your shoes, whether you’re drafted in the second round, fifth round, ninth round, because they don’t even have that right. It doesn’t matter.”

“The opportunity to wear an NFL team’s jersey and to earn a job. I mean, he broke the team down today because—as you know—I said it was probably the last time he’ll be here before he’s a professional athlete.” Dillingham continued.
Dillingham further added that Skattebo’s legacy at Arizona won’t be forgotten.
“Skattebo’s gonna be around this program for a long, long time. You know, as you guys can probably tell, this community has really embraced him, and he’s replaced—and he’s embraced it,” he said.
Skattebo had a very impressive season in his final year of college football as he finished fifth place in the Heisman Trophy voting. He is projected to be selected in the third round of the draft.
