When Alexis DeBoer committed to the Washington Huskies, she was already a big name because of her father, Kalen DeBoer, who was the head coach at Washington before taking the Alabama job.
After just a few games, DeBoer has proven to be one of the best hitters in the Huskies lineup. Recently, she impressed fans with her performance during the game against the Montana Grizzlies.
Kalen DeBoer’s Daughter Helps Clinch Victory for Washington
DeBoer has been stellar, starting with her performance against Cal State Northridge before their trip to Hawaii. She collected 12 hits in 22 at-bats, including three home runs and three doubles, resulting in an impressive .545 batting average.
She managed to record at least one RBI in eight consecutive games. Additionally, she posted a 1.091 slugging percentage, stole a base, and racked up 12 RBIs, four of which were from her first career grand slam against Howard University.
On March 4, the freshman infielder made history by becoming the first Husky to receive the Big Ten Softball Player of the Week award.
On March 8, the Huskies staged an impressive comeback to a 7-5 win over the Grizzlies, extending their winning streak 10 in a row. DeBoer was a powerhouse for Washington’s offense, as she has done all season.

The freshman went 2 for 2 with a home run, her eighth of the season, to tie the game at 2-2 in the third inning and earned two walks.
